How to Scan Your Computer Using Spybot Search and Destroy (2.9, FREE, 2022)
In that latest article in our Spybot series, we show you how to scan your computer for malware using Spybot Search and Destroy 2.9.
You’ve already installed Spybot, set up Spybot, got acquainted with the start centre, and immunised your system against a quarter of a million threats before they even happen! Well done :).
Now, we need to check whether we have any malware on our computer already. It’s easily picked up from websites, downloads and emails so it’s good to check and clear any infections.

Additionally, Spybot will also search for PUPs – nope, not cute dogs but potentially unwanted programs. These aren’t dangerous per-se but can be extremely annoying and have been reported by users to be annoying pieces of software even if they are legitimate. Software can be reported as a pup for a variety of different things but the usual reason is due to excessive advertisements or nag screens to upgrade.
