Emergency Site Maintenance – Update – 20/05/2014
Dear all,
Once again I would like to thank you for your patience.
The website is now partially back up with most content and pages available however there are still a few issues we are trying to solve.
The blog is back up and fully operational, however you will notice that there is some missing media in places (images, videos etc) and we are working to resolve this as soon as possible.
If you have any problems with the website or the blog then please do contact me to let me know and I will make sure we correct it as we work through the issues.
The emergency site maintenance was unfortunately forced due to a major hack attack on the DPS Computing website as well as the blog. There is no evidence of data access by the perpetrator, however there was a lot of damage done to the server and the files that were on it. The intention appears to have been mass destruction of files to knock the site offline. These, for the most part, have now been restored.
Other associated DPS Computing websites, such as DPS Apps, were completely unaffected by this hack.
Having conducted a preliminary investigation we have discovered the time and means of the attack that took place and are conducting a full security audit to minimize the future risk to the DPS Computing website and blog.
If you have any questions, then please feel free to contact me.
Evidently someone didn’t like what we were saying ;). Despite this, we are still fully committed to operating in the same way that we always have – with completely honesty and full disclosure of the facts in the articles that are written on this blog.
I would like to once again thank you for your patience during this turbulent time for the website and blog – but fear not, we’ll be back on our feet in no time at all! :).
Thanks,
DPS David.
