Yesterday, all of the servers for the iPad game Chronicles of Merlin (CoM) mysteriously disappeared.  It was around this time that the latest update for the game was released – whether this is a coincidence of not is not known, but it could provide one (albeit hard to understand) explanation for the disappearance.

CoM has been blighted by errors recently, and the release of version 1.35 of the game hopes to solve many issues.  DPS Computing can verify the the ‘disappearing’ time for farm occupation has been fixed and the games stability seems to have improved somewhat.

However, one of the major bugs, the alliance crashing bug has still yet to be addressed (as far as we know, as it wasn’t mentioned in the developers comments regarding the update).

Altogether there have been around 12 bugs and errors that have been claimed to be fixed and although all bug fixes are welcome, it still seems like the game has some issues with regards to stability and crashing on the iPad.

Having said this, the recent update has addressed more issues than the last update and doesn’t seem to, so far, in testing have created any new errors as happened with the previous update.

The alliance bug still is the most pressing bug with the game and players will be hoping that this is top of the developers priorities for the next release.

DPS Computing is proud to announce the release date for the first in a series of learning to drive pieces of software, DPS Drive – Interactive Theory Test.  The release date has been set for the 1st June at which point DPS Computing will be taking orders for the new Interactive Theory Test software.

A pricing structure will be published in due course and will offer great value for money when compared with other theory test products.

A demo of the software is due to go live on the 24th May – a week prior to release.  This demo will be available to all of our members and visitors on this website.

With the rise of social media in the last few years, this has also paved the way for cyber bullying.  One of the key advantages seen by cyber bullies is that they can be anonymous – they can say things and not worry about the ramifications as no one will ever know who they are….. or will they?

A misconception has spread through out the Internet that ‘anonymous’ services are truly anonymous and untraceable.  Wrong!  That fake Facebook profile that you have set up, if you cause enough trouble and the Police start to investigate, they can and will track you down!

No matter which website you go to there will be certain logs of your activity, where they originated from, e-mail address used to register and so on.  There is nothing anonymous about what you do on the Internet, it’s just all about whether you become ‘interesting’ enough to investigate.

BBC Panorama recently dedicated a program to Internet bullying and more specifically – bullying through social media websites such as YouTube and Facebook.

In it, among other things, the track down a so called ‘internet troll’ who has used to social networking site Facebook to post offensive comments on tribute pages for people that have died, including a particularly vicious racist comment to one person.  When confronted, he stated that everyone is allowed to have their views and say what they want.  But that is only partly right.

Yes, we have free speech in this country, but the laws that apply in real life also apply online.  So if you start making racist / homophobic comments or harassing people using the Internet then you are just as guilty of the offence as if you did it in real life.

The program shows the true devastating effects that cyber bullying can have on people, especially children.  It shows how a worldwide bullying campaign was waged against a girl from the United States, aged 11.

In the build up to the exciting summer software season for DPS Computing we have decided to release a little teaser of the final app.

Part of the DPS Drive series of software, the ITT, Interactive Theory Test, will allow users to practice their driving theory test over and over again.  No two tests will be the same as a random selection of questions is chosen each time ensuring that it will be valuable tool for anyone learning to drive.

BREAKING NEWS: David Smith, owner of DPS Computing has sold the DPS Computing website along with associated companies for a deal reported to be in region of £12.4 million.

News of the investors is being kept secret now but a new DPS Computing company official has stated that they will be looking to float the company on the stock market within the next year.

The deal has come as a shock to industry insiders, but the value of DPS Computing has reportedly sky rocketed due to a new patent obtained a few weeks back by the company for their expected social ticketing software release.

Some of the big players in football are rumoured to have pledged contracts in the region of £4 million to license the software, which has the potential to render useless other big ticketing companies.

Negotiations were held late into the night last night, as bidding intensified between the prospective buyers, desperate to obtain the rights to this and other software release due soon from DPS Computing which it has been said will “revolutionise the Internet”.

It has been announced that David Smith, former owner and founder of DPS Computing will retain a place in the newly formed DPS Computing Limited on the board, serving as a n0n-Executive director and will retain a 24.9% share in the company, taking Mr. Smith’s net value to approximately £4 million pounds.

More news on the DPS Computing acquisition is expected over the coming week, from newly appointed press officer, Keith Bailey.

Microsoft has e-mailed all users that have MySpace connected to their Windows Live account that over the next few weeks, Windows Live support for MySpace will essentially be discontinued. Microsoft e-mailed all applicable Windows Live users regarding this stating that MySpace information (including posts by MySpace user’s friends) will no longer be automatically imported.

MySpace is definitely declining in popularity, and was sold to Specific Media (opens in a new window) and Justin Timberlake in late June 2011 for around just $35 million USD. The company, along with Justin, are trying to turn the social networking service into a social hub for music and artists.

Following the tragic death of pop sensation Whitney Houston in February, the singers official website has increased exponentially in popularity.

Following the death of Ms. Whitney Houston, her official website quickly felt the strain of millions of fans and curious internet users flooding to her site.  Alexa.com, a leading website traffic analyst, has shown a 1620% increase in the sites 3-month popularity.

Due to the extreme demand, the website was limited to a condolence page, partly powered by Facebook, which allowed fans to leave their messages for Ms. Houston and her family.

Recently the full website has been brought back online and although the peak in demand has already subsided, the site is still seeing a hike from its usual traffic.

DPS Computing have today announced its first software release – a web based ticketing system provisionally called “DPS Ticketing”.

DPS Ticketing features full social media integration with the popular Facebook and Google+ networks and includes all the basic features and functionality that customers have come to expect from other online ticketing websites, such as Ticketmaster.

DPS Ticketing will be marketed and retailed by DPS Computing and can be modified to suit any online ticketing retailer, including football clubs, entertainment venues and bands.

Speculation continues to grow ahead of Wednesdays 6pm (GMT) announcement by Apple.  Although the technology giant has confirmed that an announcement will be made at the that time, they have not said what it is regarding.

Maybe it’s an announcement about how the weather is?  Maybe it’s there opinion on the new Windows 8 Consumer Preview?  Or maybe it’s to tell us what the CEO had for lunch that day?

Well it could be all those things, or it could be the widely expected announcement of the next generation iPad.  Speculation and rumours in the industry strongly point to this being the announcement, however Apple have been very secretive about it.  There has been no official word on the features of the next iPad or even it’s name.

Names for the new iPad which have been rumoured include ‘iPad 3′, ‘iPad HD’ and iPad 2S’.

The main areas that users have said they would like to see upgraded in the new iPad are the processor, the display and the camera.

Leaks from the factories where the new iPads are expected to be made reveal that the processor and display are both likely to be upgraded in the new iPad.
